Call To Action: November 18th – 24th

November 15, 2010

It’s Time for Big Banks to Fix Their Mess!

Big Banks ruined their credit with America when they gamed the system and crashed our economy. Their unchecked greed has cost us eight million jobs and five million homes.

While the sputtering economy fueled last week’s elections, the majority of Americans know that the Big Banks and Wall Street are responsible for the current crisis.

Despite widespread anger at the Big Banks, they aren’t getting the message.  They continue to fraudulently foreclose on millions of families in order to keep paying out record bonuses to their top executives.  They continue to back the predatory payday loan industry with over 1.5 billion dollars of credit.  This cannot last.  People nationwide are going on the offense.  We want our democracy back.  We are fed up with Big Bank greed and abuse.Over the last 18 months, banks have modified just 8% of all home mortgages in foreclosure.   Now, there is widespread evidence that the Big Banks do not even have legal ownership over the homes they are kicking families out of.

This not only poses a threat to the rule of law that is at the heart of our democracy, this scandal could once again bring our entire economy to a screeching halt.

As we approach another holiday season with record foreclosures and unemployment we stand together to say: Enough is enough!  It’s time to make the big banks fix their mess.

November 15th-19th we’re hitting the streets to take the message directly to the Bank of America and the Big Banks:  Fix the foreclosure crisis and stop all foreclosures until homeowners have had a real chance to save their homes.

Are there any planned events in the New York Area. We need to demonstrate against the banks and other financial institutions (AIG, Golden Sachs, ETC) who put us in this economic crisis.

So glad to see something happening….it’s about time! How many families have to lose their homes in vain? WE, the people, NEED HELP….REAL HELP and these large banks ( Chase & BofA) need to have some sort of accountability when it comes to the fact that only 28,000 Americans have qualified for a loan modification!

Are there any events planned in Florida? We have a large foreclosure rate and the banks are killing the families here and throwing kids in the streets. We need to march on the CEO’s houses and let their neighbors and family members know what kind of people they are.
